Thailand Polo Association proudly hosts the
“9th Thailand Polo King’s Cup 2015”
Celebrities to glam up for the event’s ‘Vintage Victorian’ concept
Thailand Polo Association proudly hosts the final rounds of the “9th Thailand Polo King’s Cup 2015” tournament at VR Sport Club, Bangbor, Samutprakan. ACM Kamthon Sindhavananda, Privy Councillor, will preside over the opening ceremony and present the King’s Cup trophy to the winning team. The match between Team King Power from Thailand, led by Apichet – Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and Team Ahmibah Brunei led by HRH Prince Jefri Bolkiah and His highness Prince Qawi. The result was Team King Power defeated Team Ahmibah Brunei by 13 – 12 on the 24th January 2015.
Mr. Kanoksakdi Bhinsaeng, President of Thailand Polo Association explained that this year’s tournament will be contested by 6 teams – Ahmibah Brunei from Brunei, Global Port from the Philippines, BP Healthcare from Malaysia, Tang Polo Club from China, the Brunei Polo Team from Brunei, and King Power from Thailand. The tournament is the most prominent of its kind in Thailand with a ‘high hand’ 15-18 goal handicap system, meaning the players must have superior skill levels. Spectators can also get involved in the action by joining in with ‘divot stomping’, a traditional polo activity during breaks between the chukkas in a match.
The event features a luxurious ‘Vintage Victorian’ concept and kicks off with a spectacular parade of A-list celebrities such as Ploy Chermarn Boonyasak and Sririta Jensen, who will display the King’s Cup trophy. This will be followed by a horse riding demonstration with celebrities Ploy Bhinsaeng, Natthapree Pichaironarongsongkram, Sonia Couling and Phitsinee Tanwiboon. In addition, there will be many fun activities from the sponsors’ booths and musical entertainment will be provided by the Royal Thai Navy Orchestra.
The “9th Thailand Polo King’s Cup 2015” tournament concludes in the evening with an exclusive gala dinner at which celebrities such as Vichai - .Aimon – Arunrung - Voramas Srivaddhanaprabha, Pol Gen Somyot and Pojman Pumpanmuang, Pasu Liptapanlop, Ditawat Issara and Laksameekan Ingkakul, Apinara Srikarnchana, Siraprapa Chirabandhu, Naravadee and Sittiwat Sahawat, ML Poonyanuch Kasemsant will show off their Vintage Victorian looks and chic polo fashion sense. The gala evening concludes with spectacular horse riding and fire blowing demonstrations, and the giving of prizes for the Best Dressed Awards. For Best Dressed Woman goes to Mom Chailai Yugala Na Ayudhaya and Best Dressed Man is Mr.Chris Relfe Another spectacular highlight of the night is the auction of the King’s Statue ‘ SongNgarn” (model) height of 60 cm, code 333 and 555 for 2 units. Along with paintings by Oliver Burel in which all money raised will donate to Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the royal patronage. All units have been auctioned off by Nusasiri PLC
